Nine Spice Project
Completion
29th April 2010
Full refurbishment project. Situated in the affluent,
young and vibrant area of the Lace Market, Nottingham this
basement unit required a full refurbishment and more importantly
design inspiration.
Nine Spice’s is a new buffet restaurant which required a theme
to mirror the name and brand, the client wanted to the entire
restaurant to maximise the nine spice concept.
NSd Design incorporated the nine spices brand by:
- Creating a new bar with a gloss black top and
gloss white face, the face of the bar had nine
acrylic spice boxes built in to the front.
- Creating a new wall panel again with nine acrylic
spice boxes protruding from the front.
- 9 Customised canvases which are situated on the
main walls lit up with LED lighting
The project also included the following:
- Painting and decorating
- New sign
- Lighting
- Refurbishment of the toilets
- Glass panel installation

JP Dhanak Project
Completion
13th March 2010

The design brief was based on a zebrano finish which provides
the shop with a natural wood grain finish to its fixtures. It
was also key to create a feature within the ceiling; initially
the ceiling height was increased making the retail space look
bigger.
The ceiling feature was also finished in zebrano as was the
pelmet that ran around the perimeter of the ceiling. The
counters, rear counters, ceiling and the pelmet all were
synchronised within the central zebrano theme, a detailed
lighting plan was also put together with the customer.
